Praise the Lord!!! Thanks to the support of people like you we were able to wire some much needed money to Pastor Pierre. With to God's direction Pierre was able to locate, purchase and transport 10,000 pounds of rice and cooking oil to the village. With the village water cistern and well rendered inoperable by the earthquake, it was determined that food preparation on the church campus would be too difficult. Thus the food and cooking oil was split into smaller portions and distributed, uncooked, to 360 families who were then able to retrieve their own water and prepare the food themselves. We are working to edit and post the video footage that was taken during the food distribution process. We believe you will be touched by the peaceful and orderly manner in which the people received their food. It is a stark contrast to many of the images of violence and desperation that have been emerging out Port au Prince. Your support and prayers enabled us to provide 1-2 days worth of food to several hundred families and for that we thank you, but we ask for your continued prayers as many families have not yet received food and there is so much work to be done. The times are difficult, but we are encouraged knowing that God's strength and power is most apparent when we are at our weakest.
