Haiti Update

We are so excited to report that the school in the village did reopen on Monday (Feb. 15th). After speaking to Pierre earlier in the week, he informed us that the food we ordered had not arrived yet, but he had received word that he should expect it on Thursday (Feb. 18th). Thanks to our many donors, Pierre was able to purchase the supplies needed to repair the water well. The repair work began this week and should be completed by Monday (Feb. 22nd), meaning we should be able to begin providing lunch to the students next week. Food supplies on the island continue to be short and the prices continue to climb so being able to feed the school children truly is a blessing! Thanks to the generous donations from our partners, we are in the process of organizing another village wide feeding program set for next week. We are working to get the money to Pierre so he and his team can begin the process of locating, purchasing and transporting enough food to feed 300 - 400 families. Please bear with us as work to edit the video of our last food distribution day. A picture speaks 1000 words, and we believe once you see images from that day you will understand the importance of the work God is doing in this remote part of Haiti. Finally, we are happy to report that our many prayers have been answered, as we have connected with a missionary team that will be heading into Port-Au-Prince the week of Feb. 28th - Mar. 6th. The team has agreed to deliver a 90 day supply of Pierre's blood pressure medication, which is a huge blessing, as we have been unable to find a shipping company that is able to ship medication into Haiti. Subsequently Pierre has been without his medication for some time and his current BP readings reflect just how important it is that we get this medication to him. Please join us in praying for this team, not just as they look to connect with Pierre, but as they seek to be a blessing to the people of this devastated nation. We are excited to see how God is going to use them, and look forward to sharing it with you in a future update. Talk to you soon!
