| Haiti Update |
We are happy to report that the team made it to Haiti safely. Alfonso has been keeping in touch via text message when they happen to be in an area where he is able to get a signal. Pastor Pierre met the group at the air port and escorted them (by car) through the streets of Port Au Prince and out of a city that Alfonso reported as simply indescribable. The group traveled to Carriest, where, after 9 months, Myriam was finally reunited with her mother, brothers and sister. From there, Alfonso, Christopher, Pierre, Carmel (Pierre's wife), Myriam and little brother Samuel set out on the 2 hour ride aboard the "slow boat" over 15 miles of water to reach the island of La Gonave. After a 2 hour (6 mile) truck ride up the side of the mountain, they arrived in the Village of Boucan La Marre. It was a long, hot, and tiring day, but the group was in good spirits as they looked forward to a Baptism in the village of Twallo on Saturday and 2 revival services on Sunday. Hope is a precious commodity in Haiti right now, and we know that God is using this team to touch the lives of His Haitian children with the peace and hope that only Jesus can provide. Please continue to pray for our team, as well as Christian missionaries around the world who selflessly work to "preach the Gospel to the uttermost parts of the earth". Many thanks and God bless.
