| Feb 2008 Haiti Mission Trip |
Hello. We are thrilled that you’ve arrived here. You may have heard that God is calling us back to Haiti once again. On February 11th – 19th Pastor Alfonso and Missionary Kimberly Joly are leading a team of people into Haiti for a short-term mission trip. This trip is being sponsored by the Remember The Poor International, Inc. global missions organization.
The team consists of Aarian Oliver of Better Life Community Church in Tallahassee, Florida and Tiffany Manning of Elizabeth Baptist Church in Benton, Louisiana. Neither of them have been into Haiti before and their churches are new to this mission. We believe that God has a tremendous work for them both and that the people of the village of Boucan Lamarre, Haiti will be blessed through them.
No doubt you’ve heard that travel into Haiti remains quite dangerous at this time. The United States Department of State continues to issue travel advisories warning American citizens to stay out of Haiti at this time because of the civil unrest and lawlessness. But God has said “Go” and we’re heeding the call. So right now, more than anything else, we need your earnest prayers. James 5:16 reminds us that “the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much”. We need your prayers for the Success of the mission and the Safety of the servants. Please pray for the team on each of these days and please make it a point to pray for Pastor Pierre, Kim, & the church in the village regularly.
It is no secret that the people of Haiti are in dire need of material resources. Please take a moment to review a recent article reminding us of this sad fact (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22902512/from/ET/ ) It is extremely difficult to present the Gospel of Christ to people who are in need of the basic necessities of human life. If you feel led to send financial support to this mission field, please know that you can do so through Living Witness Ministries and every dime of the monies will be forwarded to Haiti to meet these needs.
We believe that God will provide for all their needs and that we are a part of that provision. MAYBE YOU ARE TOO.
